George Clooney and Stacy Keibler split

It's over for one of Hollywood's biggest couples.

A source close to the couple has confirmed to HuffPost Celebrity that George Clooney has split from his girlfriend of two years, Stacy Keibler. The source tell us that the pair decided to part ways due to their hectic work schedules. Despite reports that Keibler ended things because of her desire to have children, our insider says that's completely false.

The source adds that Clooney, 52, and Keibler, 33, are still close friends and plan to stay that way.

"They talk every day," another source tells People. "They were friends before they started dating and they'll be friends after. It was a friendly [breakup]."

Keibler took to Twitter in early June and posted this message, which may have hinted at a split:

"Trying times are not the times to stop trying." - Ray Owen

The couple have been spending a lot of time apart lately with Clooney filming his upcoming flick "Monuments Men" in Germany. The two were last spotted together in March in Berlin. "They haven't seen each other in a while and they've both been working so much, so in recent months, they've started growing apart," a second insider tells People. Clooney spent the Fourth of July weekend at his Italian villa on Lake Como, while Keibler partied with her girlfriends in Los Angeles at a bash thrown by top Hollywood manager Guy Oseary.
