A video in which a Brazilian funk singer is gunned down on stage has gone viral with over 6 million views on YouTube.
According to Brazilian news sources Daniel Pellegrine, also known as MC Daleste, was shot in the abdomen while performing in front of 3 000 fans at a free concert in Campinas, Sao Paulo on 6 July.
The video which has garnered over 6 million views shows Pellegrine's rapping followed by a loud bang and the singer collapsing on the stage.
The video was caught by fans who attended the gig.
Police told a Brazilian news source that singer died early the following day after being taken to a nearby hospital.
According to Billboard MC Daleste was part of a grouping known as the "Ostentatious Funk" scene.
The grouping is described as bling-obsessed with a violent brand of rap but is also known for its "empowering conscious messages and sexy groove".
Police have not yet arrested any suspects the Guardian reports.
